Students will learn the requirements for electronic assembly during a thorough overview and presentation of the IPC-A-610 Specifications. Mixing the classroom lecture with a 600+-slide presentation along with actual soldering demonstrations and classroom discussions allows students to gain a greater understanding of the Specification requirements. Presentation skills and techniques are included in this course to help new instructors learn about teaching methods and ways to improve presentations. Duration: 4 days of review/lecture, 1 day testing Demonstration of proficiency is determined through a 2-part examination. The first part is a 75-question open-book exam. Students will be required to navigate the entire document locating acceptance criteria of various soldering and assembly scenarios. The second part of the examination is a 50-question closed-book exam, which covers the Policies and Procedures of the IPC Certification Programs, along with the general requirements of the IPC-A-610 Specification. Upon successful completion, students will receive a Certified IPC Trainer Certificate and all the necessary course materials required to conduct the IPC-A-610 Application Specialist training.
