This course mixes classroom training along with soldering and inspection labs. Students receive a full review and explanation of the entire contents of the IPC-J-STD-001 providing a full understanding of process control requirements for soldering of electronics. During soldering labs, students will learn approved assembly and soldering processes for terminal/wire, thru-hole and surface mount soldering. Students practice soldering on the following wires, terminals and components:

The J-STD-001course is Modular; allowing companies to choose the areas pertaining to their manufacturing needs. The duration for each module is 1-day. Module 1 is a prerequisite for all modules. Modules 2-5 are optional. Module Descriptions: Module 1: General Requirements (Prerequisite for Modules 2-5) Module 2: Wires and Terminals Module 3: Through Hole Module 4: Surface Mount Module 5: Inspection (Automatically granted to individuals completing Modules 1-4) Upon successful completion, students will receive an IPC Certification. Certifications are valid for 2 years. Students are required to demonstrate proficiency by scoring a minimum of 70% on the written, soldering and inspection exams.
